Do Muslims believe in original sin?

Muslims don't believe in original sin.  Muslims believe that everyone is born pure and that no person can carry the burden of another's sin.  The Old Testament also corroborates this:

Deut 24:16The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, neither shall the children be put to death for the fathers: every man shall be put to death for his own sin.

2Chron 25: 4But he slew not their children, but did as it is written in the law in the book of Moses, where the LORD commanded, saying, The fathers shall not die for the children, neither shall the children die for the fathers, but every man shall die for his own sin.

2Kings 14:6But the children of the murderers he slew not: according unto that which is written in the book of the law of Moses, wherein the LORD commanded, saying, The fathers shall not be put to death for the children, nor the children be put to death for the fathers; but every man shall be put to death for his own sin.

Ezek. 18:20 "The soul that sinneth, it shall die. The son shall not bearthe iniquity of the father, neither shall the father bear the iniquity of the son: the righteousness of the righteous shall be upon him, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be upon him."

Ezek.33:20Yet ye say, The way of the Lord is not equal. O ye house of Israel, I will judge you every one after his ways.

Ezek. 18:4Behold, all souls are mine; as the soul of the father, so also the soul of the son is mine: the soul that sinneth, it shall die.

Jer. 31:29-30 "In those days they shall say no more, The fathers have eaten a sour grape, and the children's teeth are set on edge. But every one shall die for his own iniquity: every man that eateth the sour grape, his teeth shall be set on edge."

In Islam, nobody is held accountable until they reach the age of puberty.  If someone does sin, God is the most forgiving, all we have to do is sincerely repent and do what is righteous, and God will be willing to forgive us.  This Hadith best explains it:

O son of Adam, so long as you call upon Me and ask of Me, I shall forgive you for what you have done, and I shall not mind. O son of Adam, were your sins to reach the clouds of the sky and were you then to ask forgiveness of Me, I would forgive you. O son of Adam, were you to come to Me with sins nearly as great as the earth and were you then to face Me, ascribing no partner to Me, I would bring you forgiveness nearly as great at it.

Hadith - Qudsi 34

Jesus (pbuh) never once preached this concept of original sin, it was in fact Paul that introduced this.  Killing an innocent man for the sins of others would be viewed as immoral in any other society, in Christianity, this is viewed as a gift.  We never ate the apple, we were never asked by Adam (pbuh) if he should eat the apple, so how can we be blamed?  How is this just?  A just God wouldn't have such an unjust doctrine.

What do Muslims believe about Jesus (pbuh)?

Muslims believe that Jesus (pbuh) was a prophet of God, sent before Muhammad (pbuh).  Muslims believe that he was born miraculously of a virgin, and produced many miracles, including raising the dead and curing the blind and the leper.

Qur'an 3:45 "Behold! the angels said: "O Mary! Allah giveth thee glad tidings of a Word from Him: his name will be Christ Jesus, the son of Mary, held in honour in this world and the Hereafter and of (the company of) those nearest to Allah."

Muslims believe that Jesus (pbuh) was sent to the Jews with the same message God sent with every prophet, to worship the Almighty God alone and to follow his commands.

Matthew 10: 5These twelve Jesus sent forth, and commanded them, saying, Go not into the way of the Gentiles, and into any city of the Samaritans enter ye not

Matthew 15:24But he answered and said, I am not sent but unto the lost sheep of the house of Israel.

John 4:22Ye worship ye know not what: we know what we worship: for salvation is of the Jews.

Matthew 7:6Give not that which is holy unto the dogs, neither cast ye your pearls before swine, lest they trample them under their feet, and turn again and rend you.

Muslims do not believe that Jesus (pbuh) is the Begotten son of God.

Qur'an 12:1 "Say: He is Allah, the One and Only; 2. Allah, the Eternal, Absolute; 3. He begetteth not, nor is He begotten;  4. And there is none like unto Him."

Muslims do not believe that Jesus (pbuh) is God incarnate or part of a trinity.

Qur'an 4:171 "People of the Book, do not go to excess in your religion, and do not say anything about God except the truth: the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, was nothing more than a messenger of God, His word, directed to Mary, a spirit from Him.  So believe in God and His messengers and do not speak of a 'Trinity' -- stop [this], that is better for you -- God is only one God, He is far above having a son, everything in the heavens and earth belongs to Him and He is the best one to trust."

Deut 4: 39Know therefore this day, and consider it in thine heart, that the LORD he is God in heaven above, and upon the earth beneath: there is none else.

Mark 12:29And Jesus answered him, The first of all the commandments is, Hear, O Israel; The Lord our God is one Lord

Mark 10:18And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.

Muslims do not believe that Jesus (pbuh) died on the cross, but that God raised him up to heaven and made it appear as if Jesus (pbuh) was crucified.

Qur'an 4:157 "and said, 'We have killed the Messiah, Jesus, son of Mary, the Messenger of God.' (They did not kill him, nor did they crucify him, though it was made to appear like that to them; those that disagreed about him are full of doubt, with no knowledge to follow, only supposition: they certainly did not kill him--158. God raised him up to Himself.  God is almighty and wise. 159.There is not one of the People of the Book who will not believe in [Jesus] before his death, and on the Day of Resurrection he will be a witness against him.)"

What do Muslims believe about Muhammad (pbuh)?

Muslims believe that Muhammad (pbuh) is the seal of the prophets.  They believe he came with Gods final revelation, the Qur'an, which confirms the previous revelations (Torah, Psalms, Gospels).

Qur'an 33:40 "Muhammad is not the father of any of your men, but (he is) the Messenger of Allah, and the Seal of the Prophets: and Allah has full knowledge of all things. "

Muslims do not worship Muhammad (pbuh)

[4:55:654] Narrated `Umar: I heard the Prophet saying, "Do not exaggerate in praising me as the Christians praised the son of Mary, for I am only a Slave. So, call me the Slave of Allah and His Apostle."

Muslims do not believe that Muhammad (pbuh) is the son of God, or God incarnate.

Muslims do not believe that Muhammad (pbuh) died for their sins.

What Do Muslims believe about the Bible?

First, it is important to note that the Bible we have today wasn't revealed as one book.  The revelations, from Genesis to Revelations spanned thousands of years.  The New Testaments earliest books date back to the first century A.D. and are composed of witness accounts to the life and ministry of Jesus (pbuh) and the letters and apistles of Paul.  Today's bible contains only four gospels.  Before the Bible was created, there were well over thirty gospels considered as authentic by early Christians.   It is widely accepted by Christian Scholars that the Gospel of Mark was the first written (~70 A.D.) and that Matthew and Luke borrowed heavily from Mark and a source of sayings of Jesus (pbuh) many scholars believe to have existed known as 'Q'.   Paul never met Jesus (pbuh) and apparently, based on his letters, knew little of him.  He admitted to being an opponent to Jesus (pbuh) and a persecutor of his followers.  He claimed that this changed On his way to Damascus to persecute more Christians.  For more information about Paul, his supposed conversion, and problems with his accounts, please visit the following links:

The Qur'an confirms the Torah, The book of Psalms, and the Gospels.  Muslims believe these books were revealed by God.  Muslims, however, don't follow these books, because the Qur'an says that they have been corrupted by man.  Jeremiah 8:8 also attests to this.  Muslims believe in all the Prophets, including:  Abraham, Noah, Job, Solomon, David, Moses, John the Baptist, Jesus and so on (peace be upon them all).  The Qur'an recognizes Judaism and Christianity, but also states that the Jews veered from the straight Path, as did the Christians.  Their teachings became distorted and God revealed the Qur'an to confirm the previous books and to lead people back to the straight path.

-Muslims Believe in Heaven and Hell.

-Muslims Believe in Angels.  Muslims believe Angels can never disobey God.

-Muslims believe that Satan was a Jinn, a creature made of fire.  Satan disobeyed God, so God cast him out of heaven.  Satan sole purpose is to lead people away from God.  Demons and possessions are the work of Jinn.  Fortune tellers and those that dabble in magic are knowingly or unknowingly being aided by the Jinn.

-Muslims believe that all humans have a soul, and that the soul was originally God breathed.
